Bend At The Knees
The general rule when lifting a heavy item is to lift with your knees and not your back. Aching over and bending to pick up a heavy item can damage your back muscles and knot up. Instead, get close to said object and squat down with your knees and keeping your back straight. Lift item with both arms and bring to your chest.
